Alzheimer's or Mad Cow Disease?

Return To HOME Page

Below was an interesting article showing some persons said to have Alzheimer's were actually dying from human form of Mad Cow Disease, known as Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.   Note that the author indicates that beef, sheep, pork, and chicken may all be carriers of this disease... refer to article published January 7, 2004, written by Michael Greger, M.D., entitled:

Could Mad Cow Disease Already be Killing Thousands of Americans Every Year? (refer to: http://www.commondreams.org/views04/0107-07.htm)

Let us not forget that animal serums are used in vaccinations! (refer to: http://www.cdc.gov/nip/publications/pink/vaxcont.pdf)

Indeed, bovine serum appeared to be used in oral polio (one of most widely accepted vaccines), rabbies, varicella and typhoid vaccines.   Let us remember that it could take decades for this disease to incubate and show itself.   Influenza vaccines contained egg protein and as such, that appeared to be a potential issue if chickens had the disorder and passed it on to their offspring via the egg.   Personally, I still felt mercury, aluminum and iron toxicity had much more to do with Alzheimer's than any "mad cow" issue although I certainly did not doubt that persons with human mad cow, or Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease were being diagnosed as having Alzheimer's.   But, the simple fact remained that some among the best in immunology worldwide were associating Alzheimer's with vaccines and the fact also remained that persons with Alzheimer's also showed elevated levels of mercury - a vaccine component - not to mention the many, many parallels between autism and Alzheimer's - and the undeniable link even in terms of the history of these disorders!

Clearly, there was a great deal of research indicating that Alzheimer's and mad cow disease may have  commonalities (refer to: http://www.ahaf.org/alzdis/about/prusiner.htm) ... so much so, that many with "mad cow" were actually being diagnosed with Alzheimer's!

Could there be a connection?   It certainly appeared to me that more and more scientists were beginning to think so!
